China's clothing manufacture has seen its costs soar as the country starts rationing electricity.

On September 16, 2021, Guangdong Power Grid announced that it would implement the power consumption plan of "on two days and off five days" starting from September 16, and the off-peak period would be implemented on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday every week. In addition, several cities of China have introduced power rationing policies.  

It is understood that due to the power limit policy, dyes, auxiliaries, steam, natural gas and other costs are also rising rapidly, around the clothing and textile industry up and down suppliers have increased prices.  In Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and other regions of the dyeing plant to increase the dyeing cost of 200 to 500 yuan per ton, and extend the delivery period, small batch orders more stringent requirements.Currently, due to the limited electricity policy, many places in China have made it clear that the cost of raw materials for clothing will increase by 10% to 20%.It is not clear how long the rationing will last, but rising costs in the clothing industry must be inevitable.
